On Feb. 4, 2012, themesd as Caofeidian of Hebei: the booming green economy in the blue bay, the News Broadcast programme of CCTV reported the successful practice of BSIET on seawater desalination and suitable power generating technology in Shougang Jingtang Plant.
It's said that, four sets of low-temperature multi-effect seawater desalination device were constructed in the Shougang Jingtang Iron & Steel Plant, with the singular water generation of 12500m3/d and total water generation of 50000m3/d. The suitable 2×25MW power generating group which is designed and general-contracted by BSIET for the seawater desalination of Shougang Jingtang Iron & Steel Plant, has since Oct. 29, 2011, combined to the grid and supplied negative pressure steam for the major facilities of the seawater desalination, enabling the water production in full load. This marks the successful application of world first low-temperature multi-effect seawater desalination system in three working conditions, and lowers the cost of seawater desalination for this plant for more than 45%.
